Library Catalog - What it Does

The Library Catalog searches the St. John's University Libraries' collection, which includes books, periodicals, DVD's, Web sites, CD's, Manuscripts, and other materials.

The vast majority of St. John's University libraries' books are in print form. This means that the catalog does not usually provide you with online access to materials, but instead provides you with a call number, which tells you where to locate the item in the library.

IMPORTANT: Part of the Queens Campus library collection is in closed stacks. If the catalog item indicates that a book is available but you cannot find it on the shelf, go to the third floor service desk and request the item.

Library Catalog - Tutorials

The following short tutorials show you how to find books in Queens, Staten Island, Rome, and Oakdale campus libraries using the St. John's University Libraries' Catalog. The tutorials can be viewed in any order.
