Laboratory of Tumor Immunology
Our research focuses on understanding the transcriptional regulation of pro-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic genes. This is important in metastatic cancer cells but also in activated white blood cells and chronic inflammatory disorders. Our ongoing studies focus on two principal issues: 1) What are the mechanisms regulating expression of pro-inflammatory and pro-angiogenic chemokines in cancer cells and activated human leukocytes? 2) What are the molecular mechanisms regulating transcription of anti-inflammatory genes in human leukocytes? To answer these questions, we use novel and standard approaches of immunology, molecular and cell biology, and biochemistry.
