 Adaptation Named Grand Prize Winner of the Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival Screenplay Competition

     Bill Torgerson is an assistant professor in the Institute For Writing Studies at St. John's University in New York. A native of Winamac, Indiana, he has published two novels: Love on the Big Screen and Horseshoe. His script adaptation for Love on the Big Screen won the Grand Prize of the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

     For the Love of Books is Bill's first documentary film and focuses on the Pulpwood Queens Book Club and their annual book-loving party called Girlfriend Weekend. Bill's work has been published in numerous scholarly and literary journals including the Journal of Teaching Writing and Anamesa. Bill lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters. His buddies and most of his students call him "Torg."
