DESCRIPTION
The Library Scavenger Hunt is an assignment designed to give students guidance in using on-line databases to search for information for term papers and research projects.
•The Scavenger Hunt consists of 10 questions for which the students must use on-line database skills.
•They have a week to finish. It is individual, not group, work.
The students receive prior training in class, including where and how to access the databases, formats for citations and attributions, etc.
•
Later in the semester they will learn how to transfer their search results to RefWorks, as well as how to use these skills in preparation of a term paper.
•
Defined concepts include: search strategy, Boolean logic, refine a search, paywall
